Complete fuel line replacement, need help
The factory hard lines on my 90' GT are shot, road salt has taken it's toll. I have the diff out to get new gears and a new set of Ford Racing sub connectors ready to go in. I have the old lines loosened and disconnected. There are straight pipes from the cat back. I need info regarding two things.
1) Can I replace the hard lines with the car on jack stands, is there enough room?
2) Does anybody make a reasonable priced good quality aftermarket set?
Looking under the car at how near the existing lines are to the exhaust, I am a little leary about using braided lines. Also, if I put the subframe connectors on I don't know if braided will tuck between the floor pan and the SFC's. I don't want the line under the connectors dragging on the ground. Anybody with experience doing this job please reply, thanks!

RE: Complete fuel line replacement, need help
I went to my local speed shop and bought a 25' roll of 3/8 aluminum fuel line (shouldnt corrode as bad as steel i hope) for $30 bucks, a tubing bender for $10, and a flaring tool for $15.
$55 bucks and you can put the lines where you want them to go. My lines arent corroded so i don't have to replace the return line. Not sure if 25' will do both. Im converting to carb and need to install a holley blue pump, so i needed to do it this way.
For $100 bucks, you can get a -bolt on- set from summit that comes already bent to fit in aluminum. or you may be able to get a set from your local parts store.

Did you do this on an injected motor? I know how to run the lines for a carb, but these FI connectors are giving me fits! I got the tools to remove the various weird fittings. I just don't see how to make the universal line fit to the OE fittings.
