Default headers?

whats up every body. just wanted to know whats better. long tube headers or shorties. i have some BBK shorties and was wondering if i should just wait to get some long tubes. My motor is lightly modded. just look on the bottom.

i would go with equal length shorties for now, they should give you a little bit more low end torque than longs. once you have more mods, then the long tubes can come into effect

long tubes may be a little more work to install but well worth it.I have equal length shorties and ill be soon upgrading to long tubes.

And shorties arent going to provide more toque down low the long tubes will. You had that backwards.

Anyone who says shorties over midlengths or longs doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. Shorties are barely an improvement over the stock manifolds, and hell, on the 4.6L mids and longs are known to give up to 20-30 ft lbs/horses OVER SHORTIES, I'd imagine about the same gains for the 5.0.

def longs, all the tests and people I've ever know or talked to have said longs are much better

if you wanna buy shorties might as well keep your manifolds on there as for long tubes best way to go maybe consider mid lenght but pretty expensive

Long Tube, I have 1 5/8 BBK Longtube with the off road X-Pipe, I'm happy with performance and sound!!!! They do take patience to put on though, keep that in mind.

*L* @ jeep..I like the equal length he has nothing to gain with a mild engine to go with long tubes

I had TexasTurbo full length headers. The sound was not that much better than shorts, they where heavy as a bitch, made it impossible to change a trans filter, rattled, and I could feel the heat through the floor. There are more effective first mods you can make. Get some cool looking ceramic coated shorts and a cold air intake. For the price? I had to pull the engine to get fulls in.
