Default shifting @ what RPM...

What should I shift at, I found that when I shift at 4200 I can chirp the tires in 3rd...
basicly like this
GEAR Shift rpm
1st 4500 all spin
2nd 4200 spins half of 2nd gear
3rd 4200 chirps
4th 4200 no chirp
with my mods should I be shifting higher? is this a good rpm to shift, see the car feels like it pulls past 4500, mabye to like 5000rpm, but when I shift that High I CANT chirp the tires in 3rd...IDK does this seem right I CANT tell if my car is actually faster if I shift higher in the rpm, it feels faster when I shift at 4100-4200rpm...ANy imput...

chipring tires is actually bad for drive train, shock loading the engine everytime you do that

racers double clutch just so they dont do that.

top power curve is around 5,000, but should maintain till about 5,500 then start to drop off again.

breaking traction in each gear sounds cool and is fun
but not really good, it's mostly from your clutch work.

Ok first off I dont want to be rude, but racing the car is bad for it...whats your point? I know that its bad but I still do it anway...its part of racing...you just made a general statment, that didnt really help ansswer my question...I look to see imput on my car...not on what I do to it or whats bad for it......Wheres QUIK...I know he said on his notch he ran the mid 13 run cause of him shifting at 4500rpm...I cant rember but he said a stock motor stops pulling at 4500....But im not stock....I still stock Heads and Intake...Do you think all my mods would raise the power band...see what is the powerband on a stocker? I heard its idle - 4500rpm and it will start to float valves at around 5500rpm and they stop making power at about 4500 Can anyone help clue me in.

geez, sorry

thought i did answer your question. every dyno power graph i've seen peaked at about 5,000, leveled till 5,500 then fell back above that.

I would shift between 4,500 and 5,000 for optimum power output.

sorry to snap, I just thought it was dumb that you made such a general statment...but thanks I think ill start to shift around 5000 cause the car fells like it has more pull, it actually feels like it pulls to about 6000 but I dont think its making power it just revv and floating valves...

I wish I knew the specs to the cam to see where is designed to run...Im no sure, but I think the cam I got is just slightly better than stock very similar to a e cam... cause the crane cam I got is smog legal, and I searched around on thier site and all the cams they have for my car that are smog legal have similar specs to a e cam or tfs 1 cam...not as much lift though.

Well crane makes the E303 cam for ford, so it might be the exact same grind as the E cam. Check it out and see, the E cam makes power to about 5600 RPM then drops WAY off after that. Also note that the stock Tachometers on our cars are off by sometimes up to 300-400 RPM. Shift a little early. Take it to the track and test your shift patterns. Sometimes short shifting can nock a tenth or two off your time.

Last time to the track, When I took my car to full rpm appx. 5600, I had a 1.9 60 ft. and thought it was a decent run.

My next run the launch was ugly with a 2.137 60 ft. and I ran only a tenth slower! That run should have been almost 4-5 tenths slower than the first run, it's all in how you shift.

Im using an aftermarket tach...and yes the stock tach is fine at idle to about 3500 its accurate and after that Ive seen the tach to be 500 rpm off sometimes...its pretty accurate to about 3500 after that I read the aftermarket tach..my stock tach reads 100rpms off anyway.
