Default Tick Tick Tick

Well...I'm hoping someone has had the same noise from their heads as I'm having. I'm not really sure what the noise is. It's a steady tick with the RPMs. If you've had the same noise please tell me exactly what it is or could be because I dont have anywhere to take my motor apart to find out what it is.

Also...a whining noise from the rear end? Needs juice or bad gears?

tighten your headers. Even if they look tight that doesnt mean they are.

a whining noise is most likely needs more fluid and if so you should do that asap so you dont ruin them

An exhaust leak can make a ticking noise. It's aggrivating as ****.

What rockers do you have? If you got new ones they may be hitting the baffles in the top of the valve covers. You can grind them out and you can also use double gaskets on each cover. Rear end whine is usually a sign of gear problems unless your fluid is just low.....

My motor makes a ticking noise when I start it because it is a little low on oil. I have a leak somewhere, or my car is just burning it all up. I hear the tick from the passenger side at the back of the motor when I start it cold..

is it like a loud knocking or a quiet ticking sound? maybe an exhaust leak, rocker, rod, spun bearing, throwout bearing, header gasket.....

Engine and headers are completely stock. I took a tube and used it as a stethescope (sp?) and didnt hear much noise from the exhaust. It could be where the collector meets the exhaust piping or something. I havent had the chance to try to tighten the header bolts yet. But I do plan on doing it soon.

About the rear end...is there a spot to see how full the gear oil is?
