Default Got a Question

Will a 5.0 bolt into a 1990 4cyl lx. also what rearend did the 4cyl lx come with. thanks

yea they make kits for it


and i'm pretty sure it's all the same btw a 5.0 and a 3.2 just the engine is different

you car has a 7.5 inch rear end. for the swap, you need a 8.8. the 7.5 will work, but once you hook up it will be toast.

Where can i find kits. This is for a buddy his car got tboned and he found another one just has a 4cyl in it. Correct me if Im wrong but i thought that ford did not put a 4cyl in the mustang after the late 80's. Im a Vette guy so I dont know much about mustangs. I know with chevy most will bolt right up. So any help is appriciated. thanks

not sure of who sells the kits just search for "5.0 conversion"

they did put 4 cylinders in them stopped after the fox bodies...

im pretty sure that in 86 the 5.0 models were upgraded to a 8.8, but the 4 cyls stayed at 7.5. you could be right though. it would be pointless to have an 8.8 on a little 2.3.

They didnt have a 8.8 in the 4cly cars. Also, the suspension is a little different and so is the trans.

i haven't paid much attention to the 4 cylinders... i just figured they were the same as the 5.0 cept the engine
