Engine year

Hey guys I was wondering if the motor in my car is from an 88? that is what I took it out of but im just not sure if that was the orignal motor from that car. So where are the numbers on the block? and what do they mean? thanks

the casting # is on the back side usually on the drivers side. good luck seeing it if the engines in the car. if you find em post em and we'll help ya out
