what a delimma!
I AM rebuilding my motor. I have the money (several 1,000's) in hand and trying to figure out what the heck I should do.
I have a stock 302 in my 94 GT.
I want to either build a 347 or a 306.
I am going to use the complete Trick Flow Upper-kit which are matched TW heads, Intake, cam, timing chain, etc.
I know the 347's aren't as "reliable" as the 302. But Im not sure what exactly some people's definition of reliable is. I am wanting a daily driver car, that I can street race when, ya know...neccesary. It might see a track...maybe 2 times in it's life (just for true 1/4 times).
What kind of power difference is there between a 306 and a 347 if the only difference lies in the block (same upper, and assc's)?
Are there true RELIABILITY issues with the 347? I know the stroke is longer, and that creates more wear and friction, but seriously...can it be that much? I will be using pistons where the pin doesnt intersect, which doesnt use oil.
I am planning on Nitrous and Supercharger.
I know I just typed a lot, but fill me in on personal experiences, opinions, and things you've heard.
I need some help so I can get to building!!!

I have also heard that the 347 is not very reliable. It will start using oil sooner then the 306. I do like the Trick Flow kit. I have it on my Stang. I ported the heads and the upper and lower intake. It makes good power over stock.

treet racing is a no no, it gets people killed, i had a friend that got kill not to long ago because some *** holes were racing. get a 351 and put in the car. you have the power of a 347 and the reliability of a 302
