thats what they say. buts its not as bad as some think. i done alot of searching google and yahoo for info before i built. i found that the gains outweigh the issues. especially if its a boosted motor.

the rings wear because the bind put on them at the bottom of the clyinder hench the piston rocking.

most 347 kits have addressed the oil ring issue which is the biggest part of the reliability issue, as tim was talking about. but anything with the longer stroke will naturally wear quicker. but IMO its not too big an issue not to do it. but some think different.

the reliability of each is really close to the same. but 347 puts out better torque numbers by about 30 over a 331 both in a stock motor. only about 12-15 hp difference though, the higher numbers go to the 347.

+1 I agree... NO, a 347 is not going to be as reliable as a 302 but 347's can be very reliable if you know what the hell you are doing.
