Default 3.55/3.73s and traction

I am just getting ready to have some gears put in, although am undecided on which ones. At any rate, as it is, my car gets no traction at even half throttle in first gear--with the stock 2.73s. I know that this problem will be exacerbated greatly with 3.55s or 3.73s. I am currently running a set of 15X7 Centerlines (that I am looking to swap out at some point), and Dunlop G/T Qualifiers size P215/60R15. My two questions are:

1)What can I do to improve traction now, and particularly when I get the new gears?
2)Are these Dunlops a decent tire, and the correct size?

you know those are skinnier than stock right? stock is 225/60/15

One, go with the 3.73's. Get yourself a set of control arms... they will help alot.

Fair enough. Now do you mean wider tires, or wider rims and tires? If rims, what size rims will fit back there? I have been hesitant to get wider rims because the front of the car is lowered to some unknown height from stock. If I turn the wheel to the lock, I get a hint of rubbing. I'm not sure what will fit under there now. Any thoughts?

no you need taller tires, wider helps but the hight make more diff that then width. and if you run a stock size tire you will have no traction in 1st and 2nd. if you have a good running motor.

Check out their discriptions on their suspension pieces and it will explain why they are better than stock, other companies, etc. You will gain lots of general knowledge through this website.

depends on what you want you could get some wider rims and put alot wider tires on there, but even with your rims i would think you could fit some 245's on there at least in the back. If you are worried about the front than dont make them any bigger, you are only peeling out in the back soo thats where you really need to widen them. Good LUCK man
