Default Lifter Installation Question

I am getting ready to put my 5.0 back together. The valve lifters have an oil port on the one side. Do they get installed with the port facing the inside of the engine or the outside of the engine? When I started taking them out, I saw that some were facing the inside, so I stopped paying attention to them. But I could swear that the last couple I took out were opposite. Or maybe it doesn't matter? Thanks.

I'm not completely understanding what you are say, are you talking about the rocker arms? Pushrods? Or the actual hydraulic roller lifters?

Sorry, I guess I worded that bad. I'm talking about the actual hydraulic roller lifters.

Sorry if I haven't been clear, but if you look at the link below maybe you'll see what I'm askin about:

http://mustang.c-f-m.com/index.asp?P...ROD&ProdID=481

Notice that one side of the lifter has a hole (oil port, I'm assuming). When the lifters are installed, they can be installed with the hole facing the inside of the engine, or they can be rotated 180° so that it faces the outside. Either way, the roller will rest on the cam, but I'm not sure if only one way will provide sufficient oil flow to the lifter.
