I know its a common thing for F-Body's door handles to mess up. It usually involves a trick to opening the by pressing downward as u open it from outside. Anyhow, the problem i have is that i broke the handle on my drivers side door becase of this and now teh passenger dorr is doing teh same thing and if i break it i cant get in my car! Is there a kit around somehwere that has all these little components for inside teh door in it? Or a shop that fixs that kind of thing in the Tracy Ca area. i have been looking around but to no avail. Any advise would help, thanks.

I would like to know too. I hate those door mechanisms. I haven't torn it apart yet to see how it works and if it's an easy fix.

I am thinking about ripping it apart myself but want to see if in fact there are any kits available to make things earier on me. Wish me luck..

actually its pretty easy guys, i had the same problem with my last stang, and im haveing it again, just buy either stock looking black ones or chrome whichever u prefer, drill the pop rivets out and install the new ones and hooking the latch up, and then either use new rivets or screws to hold the new handle on, the kits come with the instructions its rather easy. Hope its some soreta help, try ebay, and 50resto.com for finding the handle kits

mAN THAT **** HAPPENED TO ME TOO.the passenger side...then sa few days later the drivers side...the n d had 2 new ones put on and the passenger broke 3 weeks later. just a cheap design.. fck that pisses me off

well i guess that sounds simple enough to replace.. looks like im going to bust out the toolbox and see what happens next. 15 bucks that that cheap azz plastic handle is the ceapest i found it.. some places wanted 40! Thas just plain robbery lol. Well here we go..

Just buy some steel handles off of e-bay,costs $20/each and they work.
