Well his car just idles bad, its all over the place....mostly high around 1100ish. Then he has lots of hesitation in his throttle response. Car just isnt as fast as it should be. We've clean the MAF and the IAC till they are spotless and look pretty much brand new inside. THey're is no carbon build up on the inside of his intake we checked it all out, we polished his TB and he has a BBk short ram intake.

Yeah I have that same gas smell in may car. When I get out I smell like a gas station. I hate it, but can't figure out how to fix it. I just bought a brand new IAC today, and my O2's are brand new also.

I hope you get that fixed soon. That's risky business.

yep, we got .97 on it and we adjusted it slightly so it was .99 and that helped zipp. We also checked around for vacuum leaks and let me tell you...i just got done going over my own engine with a fine tooth comb and i am fed up with checking for vacuum leaks. We did the carb cleaner test to. Nothing they're either.

Maybe the egr valve is stuck open. That will def cause a rough idle!

Good call. I'm glad you said that because I forgot that my vacuum that goes to my EGR is broken and needs to be replaced. Man I feel like an idiot for forgetting that.

Well we took the vacuum line from the EGR valve on his car and the engine pretty much all but died, so thats fine. And what trips me out about my car is i can disconnect both the MAF and the IAC while its idling and the idle only gets a little rougher, not even by that much.

You could also check the system by doing a set of KOEO/KOER self-tests and see if any O2 related codes show up (41, 91, 42, 92)...or any others, that may be causing the driveability problems...My 2ยข.
