Thanks for the reply. I probably should have started a new thread, but I figured it was a reptetitive question. If I do the TB and MAF upgrades, should I expect any gains. I thought I read someone said there wouldnt be any gains on a MAF stang with only those upgrades. Is there anything else, large or small that i need to purchase if I buy the new TB and MAF to get them isntalled and working properly? Thanks.

If you do a TB and MAF you will feel gains... nothing huge but you will feel something.

Do I have to replace the injectors, or change anything else?

If I bump the timing, wont this cause some pinging/engine knock under acceleration?

Like Blue said, you will feel it, but it won't put you in the 12's. Timing would help and so would a full tune (wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, oil change/filter) if you haven't done it in a while. The K&N should also help, but be sure the air silencer is removed (search google for instructions).

Also, do gears if you haven't already 3.55-3.73 for manual, 4.10 for auto. that'll raise your Seat Of The Pants factor by a lot of points.

I have updated the wires, plugs, cap, rotor, etc. I am having 3:55's put in as we speak, yes it is a manual. I dont remember seeing the silencer, but i will double check on that.

Do I need new injectors to complete a TB and MAF upgrade?

Where should I look to purchase the new TB and MAF, brands, prices, etc. Thanks again for all the helpful information.

You will not need 24's until you are around 300hp (give or take a few).

Thanks.

Would you guys take off the smog pump? Can it just simply be unbolted, and put on the eliminator and you are done? Or is there other things that must be done?

If I have the following mods on my car, stock injectors are fine, or need to be upgraded?

K&N FIPK silencer removed, Magnaflows, MAF, TB, Smog Pump Eliminator, and HYpertech (when I find a used one for my 89). Can I use stock injectors with this setup, or do i need to upgrade. What if I leave the hypertech out?

What are some other easy mods that I should do?

Unless, by Hypertech, you mean a chip, they don't make them (programmers) for fox's. Your best bet is a dyno tune once you finish your mods or something like F.A.S.T. or twEECer, but those are big $$.

For your mods, just keep the stock 19 #ers, but be sure you get your MAF calibrated for the 19's.

Hey biglg if you look into a C&L from www.blueovalindustries.com they have this package of k&n filter and trueflow inlet with a 76mm MAF, it doesnt come with the chip for the conection to the computer because you take yours off of your stock MAF and put it on. Its 206 plus shipping, if you get a larger throttle body with that C&L kit you will have a nice seat of the pants feeling.
