I would definately recommend the king cobra clutch. For the price and if you already have the tranny out of the car, I guarrantee you will like it. I put it in and it actually made my clutch petal easier to engage than stock and when you engage it, it bites really hard.

RE: TKO Owners...
yeah i have the king cobra on my t5 right now. I was just saying that it depends on which style of tranny i end up with i might keep or get rid of this clutch...since some TKOs are 10 spline input and some are 26 or 27 one of the two. Id rather just jump up to the 26 tooth for extra strength for future upgrades (supercharger maybe) but yes I do like this clutch so far...

RE: TKO Owners...
ok guys... back to the point... just did this mod myself
First, you will need a different clutch. I would recommend a centerforce dual-friction, or for higher horsepower, a mcleod clutch. Again, you cannot reuse the same one from your T5, becasue of the different number of splines. Also, get yourself a new rear main seal on the motor, and a throw-out bearing. You will reuse the clutch cable fork from your T5. The Bell housing must be swapped out. The trans crossmember can be reused, but you will have to modify it with a rotary cutter... It's really tough to describe, but it has these little welds that you break loose, and allows the crossmember to be mounted about an inch and a half further back than normal. There is also an aftermarket one available for this swap, but again, it's cheaper to reuse what you have. The trans mount I believe was the same, but not sure. The TKO I bought was used and it was already mounted on... eyeballing them, I recall they looked the same. Your flywheel can be reused also, but I would recommend having it turned, (resurfaced). The shifter will also be need to be swapped out, shift **** can be reused....they're all pretty much universal. On your driveshaft... you can reuse the drive shaft, but you will need to have a different slip yoke on it. Again, D&D sells these for around 69 bucks I think. They are really knowledgeable with these swaps, and can answer any questions you have. Oh yeah, and if you do the swap yourself, you will need to get a clutch tool. You can get one from autozone for alate 90's Z28 camaro. Believe it or not ladies and gentlemen, this tranny is a chevy stocker!!! Have fun, and good luck my friend.

RE: TKO Owners...
actually i could really use the tranny. my t-5 has oh um... over 200k miles and the synchros are goin bad. if shipping isnt too bad ill take it off of your hands. lets just say my tranny is in poor condition. im sure i could take your t-5 and give the other guy mine as a core since he is going to put new gears in it. =D

RE: TKO Owners...
Ive seen this one place that rebuilds T5's and they gut the tranny and completely replace all the internals, gears, shafts, etc. And they are rated from 450hp to 650hp depending on what model. The 450hp ones are only like $800 i was pissed when i saw this, because i just recently paid $700 for a complete rebuild. From what i understand they're a complete bolt in replacement. I may be wrong though but thats from what i understand. Mybe some of you know what the company is called.
