if you have the stock clutch quadrant just pull up on the clutch pedal and press it a couple of times.

Default RE: clutch feels odd

Is the clutch on an 89 gt self adjusting? I just bought my 89 a month ago, and something feels different with the clutch. I had 3 of these cars when I was younger. I purchased this to restore it, and I dont remember any of them feeling this way. Example: It seems like I have a very small gap to let out to engage. If I were on flat ground, and with my normally steady foot I could take off with out gas. That would be 100% impossible in my car, it will die everytime. There is no slipage uphills or when accelerating. Just this darn take off issue. I can drive it fine, but my wife would never be able to set foot in the drivers seat.

Some have said it sounds aftermarket, others said it is normal. I dont think it is normal. I had 6 gt 5 spds in the 90's, and I dont remember any with this issue. I killed the darn thing 3 times before finally taking off the first time. It is very touch, small gap to release and engage, and give her the throttle when that gap hits. HELP PLEASE.
