There is a great book called How to paint Your car 101 from Amazon.com It has a whole crapload of info on body work, etc. etc. etc. Its like 15 bucks and its WELL worth it.

U wanna get all ur supplies from somewhere such as Painter's Supply. Or some other type of paint supply store that has automotive products. They will be able to recommend everything u need for this project. Just don't go somewhere like Murrays or Autozone.

You do not have to take it down to metal. If you want to you can but its not necessary. For filler, I have heard NOT to use anything by bondo. There is a filler called dynafill that I was recommended to use by a few people. Its not expensive at all and some autozones sell it but not all. For the grit paper you will probally not want to go any lower than 80grit and just work your way up in numbers.

well you cant really tell from the pics but the paint is cracked up bad so i think i need to go down to metal or close to it. is there a metal sealer i need to use?

Do you know if there is bondo under the paint where it is cracking? It might be the filler cracking underneath... if it is than you should take it down to the metal becuase you shouldnt put filler over filler. Also, I am not positive but I am pretty sure that when you take a door down to metal you should use appoxy primer to seal it.
