Default 5 o guys, i need your help

if I was going to ask anyone, it would def. be you guys. How hard is it to convert a 5.0 to a carb. Reason being, I am looking at a mid 80's grand marqui that I am turning into a demolition derby car, figure 8. I don't want fuel injection.

My main ? is, can I just bolt on an intake and carb and call it good? It just needs to run decent. Will the stock ignition work, once I start takn' the top half of the motor apart?

Thanks guys for any input / help!!! The last few years I have been running a 85 Lesabre w/ a 307. I want to run Ford Power Now!!
