5.OOOO Crap
So let me give you a little background on my car. It was bought brand new by a kid who lived in Denver in 94. He could no longer afford the car so he sold it to the guy who I bought it from with the expectation to buy it back if he could afford it later. Well it never happened. The car who bought my car owns 11 stangs and had to get rid of one so he sold mine to me. He pretty much just let it set since 01 driving it only for about a total of 30 miles. It had not had a oil change since 01. I know this because when I bought the car the sticker was 5 years old. So I drove about 1k miles on it since then and it dawned on me to change the oil. Well I told me wife that I needed it changed so she took it down to a local jiffy lube or something like it to have it done. They put 10w30 in it when I am assuming it should have 5w30 but I don't know how big a difference that would make with my problem. Anyway I just went to the local fuel station and filled up. While filing the take I was checking the oil and noticed that there was some very very very fine metal shavings in there. I am talking like ultra fine glitter but I can still see it. Any suggestions or am I just being to over cautious....[:@]

Sitting too long MAY have something to do with it, but since you already drove it over 1k miles before the oil change, any metal shavings resulting from sitting too long would have been captured, and drained, with the old oil.
If you STILL have noticeable metal shavings, then definitely get it checked out ASAP. Follow HC_CrAzYHoRsE's advice and check the oil pan. Since you had someone else do your oil change ([:@]), AND you had your wife take it there (double [:@][:@]), I'm guessing you wouldn't feel comfortable pulling or checking the pan yourself. Have a reputable shop check it out ASAP. Otherwise, you're lookin' for trouble.

That's not it. It was a matter on convenience in doing the oil change. I am just fine checking the oil pan and puting that much back together. My only issue is that I have never worked in the block of the motor before. I have worked in the top end but never actually taken the heads and what not off. So if I take my oil pan off and see all kinds of crap then I would most definitely have to take it in since it's my daily driver. could you guys give me some posibly problems and rough estimates? Might use this as an excuse to get new internals.

Changing from 5w30 to 10w30 couldn't have caused it...that's just the temp range for the oil. Could be your oil pump going out. A new one is $35-50 depending where you are, but you'll have to lift the motor and drop the oil pan to put it in. the labor will cost you a lot if you have to pay someone.
