Default confusing 94-95 intake problem

I posted this in another thread, but most of you probably didnt see it. This came in an email from accufab:

We no longer make anything at all for the 94-95 Mustangs. The reason is that adding a larger TB to that intake will NOT make any additional HP, regardless of how large the TB is. This is because the EGR is imbedded in the upper intake and that is the restriction, kine of like the center squeezed in part of an hour-glass. Your options are this: Get a TB from a competitor and have no increase in HP or replace the upper part of the intake with one from a 87-92 Mustang. These upper intakes have replaceable EGR spacers so you can get a 65MM EGR as well as your 65MM TB

So if I put on an intake from an 87-92 mustang, will this solve the problem? Has anybody done this before? It sounds like a pain in the a** if i have to use adapters and everything else. And they're saying that if I put on a C&L 76mm MAF kit (including inlet tubes and k&n filter) and a 65mm throttle body then I wont get any HP gain? Can anybody confirm/disprove this? I dont really want to replace my intake anytime soon, and i dont want to throw my money away on the MAF and TB if it wont do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

i have no idea myself but that is a good question because i have a 94. if it is true it wouldnt be too much for a new manifold. u can prolly find one on ebay or get one from a junkyard and clean it up

that does make sense with that gooffy bent upper intake
those cars have.

i would just upgrade to a better intake up and down,
you can find some decent deals on ebay or like $350 for new cobra.

ACUfab is top company too, I dont think they would lie to you.

true, i'm sure they know what they're talking about. i'm wondering if its still worth it to do at least a cold air intake though? I want to get (as i mentioned before) the C&L 76mm kit, do you think this will make a difference? Or should i not bother until i get a new manifold?

I don't know about the restriction on the 94-95's, but you can buy an elbow adapter for those years and use an 87-93 intake w/ no problems.

Yea I would agree but the opening on a stock manifold is what? 60mm so if you get a 65mm you still wont feel anything on it because your manifold is only allowing the 65mm of air to get in there. Correct me if I am wrong. But yeah If i were you I would go for a new upper and lower intake manifold if you can save up for one, or go to the junk yard and look for a 96 1/2-98 explorer with the 5.0 liter in it and take the upper and lower off of that, also take the heads cause they are the gt-40p.

On the exploder's, I thought it was 96-97.5 for the intakes..... I may be wrong, that's just what I remembered.

I have heard all the way to 2000 but mostly just 98. Someone else on here will be able to help out.
