Im buying another 5.0 and this is happening: Driving 70mph @ 2600 RPM and the speedo says im going 120mph. Does the car have gears.

If you know you were actually goin 70mph and the speedo said you were goin 120...then yeah...you probly have gears... is it a five speed? if it is...probly has 3.73s...rpm is fairly low for that speed if it has gears....in an auto anyways... if the owner doesn't know...then...:S I dunno whta to tell ya other than just try gettin a new speedo gear to see if it fixes it.

what gear are you in, if in 5th wounds like you have 4.10 gears, or 3.73, if you want to find out if you have gears, you can jack up the car, make sure both rear tires are off the ground, remove parking breaks or put in neutral. the mark a spot on the Driveshaft, the see how many times the tire rotates per 1 revolution of the drive shaft. if you can turn it 3 1/2 times you have 3.55's if you turn it more than 4, you have 4.10 gears.

someone could have put a 140 face on an 85 speedo, thats how mine is

it's a 5-speed and im in 5th gear. I compared the speed with another 5.0(stock). i'm guessing 3.73's. I don't think is was an 85 speedo because this is a '93 5.0.
