Default Free power

Just wondering if there is anything I can do to my 88 GT Vert to make it have a little more power.. that wont cost me any money. Someone said that there is some kind of sensor? in the pass side firewall I can take off? Anyone know about that? Any other help would be great.

Thanks!

Uhh, the TPS sensor can be tweaked. You need a voltmeter to read the voltage after you splice the wires, then turn it to .94 or something.

Don't know about any sensor but you can take out the air silencer along with the whole intake tubing in the fenderwell. Obviously leave everything from the filter to the engine but you can take everything else out, it will flow a lot nicer and you'll notice a little difference. Also depending on miles you may want to do a moderate tuneup if it hasn't been done in a while; distributor cap/rotor, plugs, filters, all of that.

start saving up your nickels and dimes! removing the air silencer and bumping up the timing a couple degrees is about all I know you can do that's free besides throwing out things like the spare tire and jack, rear seat, etc and you probably don't want to do that!
installing a chip on the computer will run about $225 and is the biggest and cheapest bang for the buck I can think of that would really increase the power where you could feel it in the seat of your pants. next up would be installing some headers and a cat back exhaust but this cost more and takes more sweat equity than the chip. a K&N air filter is also cheap and easy but you won't really feel it that much.
these mods are the first two things I did that I could really feel and see the increase in performance on the dragstrip too!
