Head gaskets and Bolts

RE: Head gaskets and Bolts
Your best bet will be summit racing. YOu can spend hours looking for the best prices, but summit is usually pretty close if not the lowest on most things and you only pay $9 handling fee, no shipping (unless it's an oversized item).
Absolutely ARP, but I'd go w/ studs instead. Bolts don't last as long b/c when you tighten them, you are also torquing the shaft of the bolt, which weakens it. Studs just screw in and stay (use Loctite) and the heads slide on over them. Then you just screw the nuts on and torque them down. B/c studs use nuts which are independent of the shaft (unlike the head of a bolt), almost all of the torque is applied to the nut on top of the head (where it's supposed to be).
Summit will also have the Felpro graphite gaskets for ~50/pair.

RE: Head gaskets and Bolts
I got my Fel Pro 1011-1 Gaskets at autozone for as cheap as any mail order. You can also get 1011-2's which are a .039 compressed gasket and use a copper ring where as the -1's us ea steel ring at .041 compressed thickness.
As for bolts, I don't know if the 165s use a 1/2" bolt hole like the 185s but you'd need to buy the stepped head bolts then, part number 254-3708, $109.95 at summit.

RE: Head gaskets and Bolts
didnt you get the instruction sheet with the heads¿ it tells all the part numbers you need.
"head gaskets - fel pro 1011-1 for 1962-1982, use 1011-2 for 83-95 for high compression, nitrous of forced induction,, consider using fel pro 1006 locwire. note: 1006 locwire gasket will require modification of the head deck surface by a competent machine shop to fel pro specs, also put a small amount of silicone around water crossover in head deck when using 1006 gasket
intake gaskets- use afr 6828 on the 165 head. a small amount of silicone is recommended around the water ports and the inner port. do not port match your manifold exactly to the gasket, leave .050 per side smaller
exhaust gaskets: any header or manifold designed for original equipment heads will fit.
valve cover gaskets- i recommend that you do not do what afr recommends(cork), instead, get a rubber one
spark plugs: use 14mmx3/4" reach gasketed spark plugs, no tapered seat plugs. street application use autolite 3924"
hope you have fun with the heads, ive had mine on now for almost a week, and they are great
