will 17 inch rims fit my needs

hello i am thinking of getting 17 inch rims the fronts are 17x8 and the rears are 17x9
2 - Cobra "R" style rims 17"x8" +12mm (4-lug)
2 - Cobra "R" style rims 17"x9" +24mm (4-lug)
4 – Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires – 255/40 ZR-17
will these allow me a 1.5 to 2 inch drop. maybe more cause i was thinking about going air ride in a few years.
if i need to roll fenders or other modifications let me know
and does my 88 gt have less clearance than a 93 should i buy new fenders?how do i get more clearance in the rear?
what kinda work could i do to get a nice low drop on this would buying a k- member help? tubular a arms? where are the problem areas?

Those should work fine for the drop you're talking about, but if you're gonna airbag it later, you might need to roll the inner fender to get clearance. Steeda and other companies make some parts to help w/ lowered vehicles......X2 ball joints, bumpsteer kits. Energy suspension and Prothane both make off-center steering rack and sway bar bushings for dropped vehicles, too.
