depends on head, cam and intake combo, but with good heads and all, 400+hp is very doable on a 331.

331 will want good intake and heads and ect. to breath to its full potential.

Not to steal the forum but could i take the stock 5.0 block and have it machined to whatever bore a 331 is and then buy the kit, put it in and keep all my same 306 h/c/i and just put it back on and start it right up or should is there more to it?

i say do all at once but if i had to do one or the other i'd do the h/c/i and make this setup to get ready for the stroking

Its not worth stroking if you leaving the stock h/c/i on it. I mean... you can do it and just wait until you can afford everything else but if you are going to leave it like that they dont even bother. Also, an average 331 stroker, 185's, etc. will make 300-320rwhp.

oh i read his post wrong... yea it'd be way to restricting to make much hp at all and it'll prop end up hurting your engine cause it won't be able to breath
