hey guys the pipe that runs from the smog pump to my X pipe broke yesterday :-( my exuast sounds like sh@t now.....so how does on go about taking it off? and what do i do with the metal lines that go from the pump to other places, block them? any input would be appricated. I saw the other thread but he didnt answer the question i had. SO is the an HP gain? I also have no emisson test

I would like to know what I need to do, and how to take off the smog pump on my 89 gt also. Can anyone give step by step help? Is there a tech article anywhere? Thanks.

ok. first things first, unbolt the Smog pump. WOW its gone, the pipes go to each side of the motor and connect with the back of the heads! what i did to mine was took the pipes off cut the ends off and welded the hole shut, then rebolted the peace of pipe back to the head, then all u have to do is plug the pipe that is on your h-pipe. last step is to Find a Belt that fits, check some other fourms search for smog pump delete and they should tell u the belt size!! hope that helps!!
