Default PCM Question

How do you know when your PCM is bad? Will your car even start? I put in a new starter a couple of days ago and during the process I touched a hot wire to ground. And after I got the new starter installed my car will barely even rev up let alone have enough power to drive somewhere. Any ideas on this? Electrical Mechanical?

to check for a bad computer, try to set the tps it will read 4.95 volts. but that could also mean it has a bad ground so check them.

OK! Isnt there some way to test for electrical shorts with a test light between your negative post and the negative cable?

That is to test for a draw on the system.
