Your 5.0 a daily driver?

RE: Your 5.0 a daily driver?
Mine's a daily driver, I put about 20,000 miles on it a year. I've had it for a little over two years, so far the only problems were one day it suddenly run in third gear, dunno why. Had to drive it to my mechanic (luckily I happened to be only a few miles away) at 15 mph in first at 2000rpms. That was fun. Ran fine after putting in new plugs and messing with the timing. I think the computer doesn't get along with the AOD. The other problem was a few weeks ago, it just randomly lost all it's coolant. No idea how that happened, just started overheating out of nowhere 5 minutes after I left class, and coolant was dripping all over but I couldn't find a leak. Filled it up again and now it's all better. No idea what that was. Car goes in all weather except snow, where I drive the Jeep cause it goes through snow like it isn't there.

I'm about 50-50 on my driving the stang or my '02 Tahoe.
taken the stang on 800 mile cross countries and until recently has never let me
down, some of the sub systems are starting to show their age now though.
engine still purrs with 95,000 miles on it.

Mine's been a daily driver for 7 years straight now, because it's been my only car lol. It's been through pretty much everything, lots of in town stop and go, I used to have to take the interstate everyday to get to class, it's even gotten through every winter (Colorado) that I've had it. Now it has just over 170K miles on it, and still runs ok. Only problems I've had have been the fuel pump (don't buy a NAPA or any of those types of places fuel pump, they die when they get too hot) and my smog pump froze up and snapped my belt. Those were cheap fixes though, even though admittedly it did leave me on the side of the road, but help wasn't far away.

Unfortunately mine is my daily driver. Don't get me wrong I love driving it. But I feel bad. Poor thing never gets a rest. I'm actually in the process of finding a new DD and retire my girl to the weekend fun.
