Rust repair
I have a few rust spots on my project 86 GT that I need to take care of and I just wanted to make sure I was useing the right stuff and following the right procedure. I was planning on:
1. using my drill and sanding pad which is 60 grit to sand the paint off to the bare shiny metal.
2.Then I was going to use permatex rust treatment to seal the metal.
3.After that I was going to spray it with brite touch general purpose primer.
Is there any steps I am missing? or any other tools or products i need?

RE: Rust repair
Welcome to the club....currently doing the same thing on my '86 too.
Once you repair the rusted area, need to seal it, or encapsulate it. Might want to check this information on the subject, great site for "how to" information. GL
