Default would a 6 speed be worth it?

So i am debateing weather or not to get the t56, or the t3550. So i guess the question is, would the six speed be worth the extra money?? I am running 3.73 and will soon have a stock 351 with a lumpy cam, so do you guys think that the t56 would be worth the extra money?

yes it is since a t56 is a great first 3 gear tranny then you got two overdrives also so you could run higher gears and still have highway cruising

the last gear in a t56 is close to the same overdrive ratio as a t5 , so so in top gear its almost the same as a t5, and since you race 1-4 gears , i dont rec pounding on a overdrive gear , you just have a closer spread between your last gear
t5 t56
1 2.95 2.97
2 1.94 2.07
3 1.34 1.43
4 1.00 1.00
5 .73 .80
6 .62

the stangs i have made i set up to be done in 4th, 5 is just to help me get around town , unless you plan on road racing where you can really benifit from the extra gear then ya, but unless your not i dont go into the entire trouble of putting a t56 in . (extra work) i guess it depends on the car your making , if its a dragtype street car , i dont think you will ever really use the extra gear. im not putting the t56 down its just more work and hassle then getting something like a tko, or something else that can just bolt in . i just dont think people see that they really dont need the extra gear . but it all up to you and your preference, just pointing something out that i have experenced

just go with putting in a whole new gear set, cheaper than the T56 and can handle more power. Go with G-Force look them up. They sell kits that slide right into the T-5 housing.

I'm going to change out the T5 in my car for a T56 this fall... Not only is it cooler, but the durability factor behind my new bigger engine will be the real reason...
