87 mass air conversion. 89ecm vs. 90-93
I'm trying to piece together a mass air conversion for an 87 gt. Can I use any mass air computer or can I only use a non-airbag mass air (89)ecm? Is the harness jumper (plug) the same with the airbag? If so are the wires in the same order on the airbag ecm? Can I bypass the air bag in a 90-93 ecm and still get clear (11) koeo codes?
Please any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated

you may be able to ohm out the air bag and just splice that into the wire , newcars that have optional side air bags use simulators if it not equiped , i have always found thet correct pcm , but that may work , i would suggest an a9l if your not goinng to tune it . you dont have to get an entire harness , you can just switch some pins around on a non maf car get a connector and wire to plug into a maf , easy and cheap , vs buying a harness off some one , granetili makes them , and there write up on which pins to relocate .

I just pieced together a mass air setup for my 88. I used a ecu out of a 89 GT Auto.. and the rest of the mass air hardware. I purchased a wiring harness off of ebay.. it was like $32 shipped. The company who makes it is pretty good and gives you instructions on how to install it. Well worth the money. There is a tech wrightup on stangnet.com also that helped me with the stuff that the companys instructions didnt. It was pretty painless, I would go that way
