call the tech line at Ford Racing Performance Parts at 586-468-1356, I'm sure they can give you the correct information you need! btw, MM&FF magazine recently put a Lightnin motor in a late model Mustang and had to cut a big hole in the hood to clear the tall motor from the truck. they call the car Frightening now! you might want to check out some back issues to see what they had to do to get this switch to work even though your're doing it in a much older Stang. good luck and send us some pics when you get it done!

Default RE: What flywheel do I have?

Thanks for all the good input guys... I did purchase a used (but never run) aluminum flywheel from a local guy here near DFW... It's a McLeod unit with 28oz counter balance (or at least it's supposed to be)... I'll be trying that once I verify it's a 28oz part for sure... (anybody know how to tell for sure?)

Anyway, still collecting parts for the conversion, got my 70 mm BBK Throttle Body/EGR today, guys at Ford Tech advised to use the OEM Lightning cam with 1.7 rockers, new clutch & p/plate arrived from Jegs yesterday, chassis guy called this morning and he's making good progress on some updates, so things are falling into place...

Still gotta run down 30lb injectors and MAF sensor, but don['t really need those until I install the super charger later this summer... I'll get the Lightning 351 installed and tuned up and running good first, then comes the next phase... the K/B S/C and and a T56 six speed..

Stay tuned... it should be pretty cool when completed...

1980 and down 302's are 28oz (WHICH IS WHAT MINE IS) and the 1981 and newer 302's are 50oz.

Your best bet as far as verifying that part is to call the manufacturer.
