just installed my CAI
I just put a C&L cold air 76mm MAF kit on my 95 GT. I have a couple of questions though for anybody who's done this. First, it said that the MAF should be connected to a mounting bracket, and there is no bracket to speak of. The only thing holding the whole unit up is the connection to the throttle body. It seems pretty solid but it seems like the MAF should be mounted to something for extra strength. Has anybody had any experience with this? Also, i was left with an extra blue rubber connecter piece, it didnt seem like it was supposed to go anywhere. The only place it could go is where the air filter connects, and the rubber piece was the wrong size for this. Anyway it looks good and seems solid and runs fine, but if anybody else has done this i could use some tips to make sure i did it right. Here is a pic:

looks good but just to clarify, that's not a cold air intake because it's pulling hot air from the engine compartment. this is a cold air intake

EDIT;;; oh man thats not a good pic but it goes into the hole in the fender and thats where the filter is.

good point. its not a true CAI, but it did come with this big hideous plastic shroud that's supposed to block the filter from the engine and suck air in from the fender, but it looked retarded so i left it off. I dont think it will make a difference as far as HP is concerned, and it looks a million times better, so i left it off.

yeah, that might be what it was for. i'll definately keep it just in case. the kit came with horrible instructions, i pretty much had to figure everything out for myself. it wasnt hard, but its nice to be 100% sure of what you're doing.
