I'm all for tweaking my car out. Sounds like you know you ****... What the deal with top end speed with 3:73?? I have herd less and more.. My knowledge is now 5 gear will have a powerband so whats the verdict with my mods?

lower gears and more power will help the car in 5th gear but if you run lower gears, your top speed will drop

go with 3.79's

a stock 5.0 fox can hit 140mph but i wouldnt do it

My coupe with 3.55's will hit 130 in 4th gear around 5200rpm's......

It's a 5 speed, right? Go w/ 3.55's or 3.73's. The lower the gear (numerically higher), the lower your top end will be b/c your rpms will increase at lower speeds. If you're looking for some top end speed, I wouldn't go above 3.55's.

All aod automatics have a governer in the tail shaft of the transmission. I don't see how its possible for a 5 speed to have a governer, they probably have fuel cutoff point or spark cutoff.

the gov in the tailshaft has to do with transmission funcition not governing speed!
