What i do know for a fact ocurred on my car....

I have dyno'd my car with a set of BBK 1 & 5\8" unequal length headers, x-pipe without cats, & Flowbastard catback=320rwhp\307rwtq
Same dyno, same combo, same exhaust, no other changes other than installing a Magnaflow catted x-pipe=296rwhp\294rwtq

Wow! So the cats make that much difference? By the way, does my car really need the four cats that are on it? Could I get rid of two of them, and still pass smog?

on a stock motor, id say your gains are going to be little to none... I did a headers back exhaust with no cats and didnt really pick up any time at the track. Foxes might be different tho.

shorties are gonna give you more low end torque than high end horse power. if you want the high end stuff then you'll want long tubes.

I myself like to punch the throttle and get thrown back in my seat and get whiplash. i love torque.

you wont gain too much with just hedders. but your car will sound cool!

stock motors will have little gains from a full exhaust. h/h-pipe/catback, prolly 10-15whp max. the better built the motor, the more it will help. bigger is not better in this case. backpressure is something to need. you dont want it restricted, but it cant just flow free either. different applications call for different exhaust sizes.

WOW that sig is HUGE!!

Anyway, getting back to the post. Yea you will gain a little HP i'd say maybe 15hp. All I know is when I had to get my car smogged it ran like total crap with the stock H-pipe with quad-cats on it. REALLY restricts a built engine.
