130 sounds more like a broken or poor functioning temp guage.

no, i thought it was broken, but, when coolant got real real low cause of a leak (which I fixed) temp went up. But after my electric fan and topped off coolant, it hovers right around the 130, on hotter days it goes a little above 130

running that cool is not good, it will be putting in too much fuel, and in turn wash down
your cylinders which is bad for your engine, hopefully your guage is just wrong
i'd try another gauge to see what it says

first ide like to say that i HATE gauges that spell out "normal" because you never actually know what anything is actually at. but i wouldnt worry to much about how hot it's running mine runs between the "R" and "M" and its fine

thats sounds good... i was wondering what other 95 5.0 owners ran at. I just took it out and drove down the highway and back home and it hovered right around half mark. Its about 20 degrees colder outside now than when it ran hotter. But mines probaly just like yours then- over half way. Thanks

okay, so i think I jsut need to take some coolant out? Is the best way to do that just by unhooking a hose, or is it better to try and somehow siphon it out?

Lol taking some coolant out shouldn't be a fix or an answer, that will just set your annoying coolant light on. Unfortunately I don't know what the answer to making your engine run hotter, maybe just throw on some flaming poo to make it hott????????

I don't think my low coolant light works...

I know I should probaly put a 180 degree stat in there, but i just don't feel like it, ha ha

Do you even have a tstat in there? First, I'd flush the system real good, use the strong stuff that you leave in for a day, not 1/2 an hour. Then, if a 180 or 195 tsat don't fix you, give it a swift kick in the nuts.
