not another head poll!!
Yeah once again I have another question... On my friends 89' 5.0 he's looking for a set of heads but we really cant figure out what type would be good... We both heard that theres alot of goods and bads from different companys, as anything else. But what are people running on their cars??
Were looking for the best head which isnt to high in price but could fit on a STOCK block and piston motor, but could still make good HP numbers in the future if he desides to stroke or run boost through it. I dont remember whats the largest size valve you could use on a 5.0? Isnt it a 1.90?
Thanks Everyone. Ken

I think we should make it a sticky because I doubt this is the fist time this subject was talked about..
Ken..
PS. thanks.. But would the Trick Flow heads be okay for a stock block and pistons?

well you cant really put the words best and cheap together... I'd go with the AFR 165s, and the Trickflows as my second choice. They are the only 2.0" intake valve head that will fit a stock 5L (or so they say)

For me...it's worth it to spend some good money on the heads. So I'm going to get the AFR 165's. Then some sort of agressive cam...then some longtube headers. Then have 400HP!! Like the articles say! [sm=gears.gif]

RE: not another head poll!!
the twisted wedge heads truly are the only aftertmarket heads out there for 5.0s that will work with a 2.02 intake valve with stock pistons. Also, this setup will be good to go for up to .535-.540 lift with no clearance problems. Also, they make these heads but fully CNC ported that reportedly are good for an extra 40-50 crank hp over the regular twisted wedges on a decently built motor. Those are what will be going into my car later this year no doubt. If you don't like these, go with the afr 165s. As long as you get the ones with the 1.90 intake valves you shouldn't run nto any problems with the piston clearance.

tomorrow i'm going to call the service support and see if their 5.0 heads (170cc) will fit with stock pistons and such
