That wouldnt be all that hard to do....just exspensive. But hey, good luck. 12psi isnt that bad. But 20psi is where you gonna start feeling the strain. Build you one hell of a coolant system, big radiator, big fans, high flow waterpump, etc. Try to keep as much heat out of that engine as possible. But that MSD thing mentioned above is definatly worth looking into. Your gonna need some powerfull spark to ignite that high pressure cylinder load anyways, so go big on the cooling system and the ignition system.

read above I had to change it...rember im going to use pump gas 91 oct.
Whats the weak point in my system considering the block is good to 1500hp...and where do you think the line will be for detotanation or timming...I want to run the highest timming and hightest boost, where will that line be?

The weak point is the fuel actually. How much power you lookin for anyways? like 900 1000 or so?

You know what? It might actually sound stupid. But if you could build your engine to run with E85 Ethanoyle or whatever its called. That stuff is suppost to be like 114octane or something like that according to the EPA. Thats something to think about. It might sound stupid now, but you never know.

well with out getting tech...Heres what I want to do...build a 351w w/ dart block, run like 12 psi of boost intercooled...I want to build it to have good horse power on 91 octane gas. AND for hp- I have no limit so where fuel stops me...this is a daily driver, on 91 oct. so yea where fuel limits me...im upgrade the whole fuel system to support 1000+hp.

Im not expert but you should be able to get prob. 900-1000hp on 91 octane. Its been done plenty of times. Its not cheap, but it can be done. But what aspect of building a car is cheap, right? Your definatly gonna need a boost controller, an ignition system that advances/retards your ignition with the increase/decrease of boost levels. A hell of alot of gas, big Fuel pump, big fuel lines, big everything in that category like you said. But the main thing thats gonna determine if you can do it is your turbo controlling equiptment, boost controller, etc. and your ignition system with the self adjusting timing system. And your gonna need something to tie it all together and make it work together and be able to tune it all together on a lap top. Your fuel curves, ignition curves, boost levels need to be all meshed together to keep heat low and keep your ignition curve parallel with your boost levels. etc. When you get it done it should be a hell of a ride though.

Are you talking a street car? 12psi is too much for a street car, you will run into reliability issues, besides, if you're only going to run 91 octane gas, why go 12psi? why not just stick with 6 - 9 and up the compression?

You'll never come close to 1000hp with only 12psi, at that, on 91. You'd need around 35-40psi to get to 1000. Every 14.4 psi doubles your power.

Default boost and compression

^^^^^ thats what I want to know....what will give me more hp me running Low boost (6-9psi) and more compression on motor 9.1 or 10.1....or running High boost (12-15psi) and then start with a low compression motor 7.0:1 or 7.5:1? yes this is a street car. probally drive it every other day or weekends...why cant you run 12psi on a street car? why wont it be reliable reliable to me is lasting atleast 50,000 to 100,000 miles for the motor? how long would the block last? at 12psi...considering the block is good for 1500hp...and its going to have a bomb cooling system(4 core rad, hi flow water pump, etc) to keep heat down....money is not an option, i will spend as much as it takes...I will spend up 30,000 or so....I have 20,000 to build the car. i just need to know which route to go....How much boost and how much compression I can run on normal 91 oct gas...And as for the air from the turbo...its going to have a huge intercooler, and mr freeze methanol kit and for tuning im going to have it dyno tuned with a PMS type system or a completely stand alone sys, and have the tuner tune it...On top of that the turbo is good up to 1500-2000hp so it I need extra boost to make up for the big intercooler and such....can anyone answer the whats in bold if they know?

Default RE: boost and compression

If the block is that good why not stroke it to 392 or 427 and go easy on the boost?
