Default Best way to grenade a stock GT rearend?

Is it possible to blow the T-5 trans or the sock 8.8 rearend with a nearly sock motor?
What would one need to do, lite the tires on a real steep hill a few times?

It's very easy to kill a T5. Just don't use the clutch. T5s are not all that solid. They like to be pampered. Although I'm not sure why you would what to kill your transmission. I would imagine that the transmission would go before the rearend so if you hammer it you will have the expense of rebuilding the transmission while the rearend is still in good shape.

I don't know how many shifts it would take. It depends on how good you are at it. You do know, you can make money by selling the transmission. Sometimes you may need to use it for a core on a new transmission. Remember the Tootsie pop comercial where the Owl finds out how many licks it takes to get the the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop. This thread kinda reminds me of that.

This is ignorant!I would be more worried about trashing the motor and the rest of the driveline.

I dont think anyone would do that here we all have more sense than to purposely trash our vehicles because we want new parts. You want better stuff upgrade why trash what you have in order to get new?

Remind me to not let you ever barrow my mustang!

I'd hit about 80 on the freeway and trying slamming it in reverse a few... dozen times... let me know how it works out

OK, if you want new stuff get it and put it in, sell your old stuff to someone cheap instead of wrecking it, do someone else a favor and make yourself a little money. If you want new gears and you're trying to mess up the rear end you'll probably damage more then just the ring and pinion.
