What modifications should I make to my AOD ? Read.
Ok, i made the decision to keep an automatic when I do my swap in my 87 Notch. I purchased a AOD. I was wondering what improvements i should make to the tranny side of things. I want my car to be a daily driver, but I live less than 5 miles from a NHRA sanctioned 1/4 mile dragway (Virginia Motorsports Park), so some Test & Tune sessions are deffinitely in my future.
I was thinking of a B&M Shiftpack and going with the stage 1 tune in that package, and getting a B&M Tork master 2000 for a slightly higher stall, then adding a external transmission cooler. Does anybody else have any recommendations? Thanks

oh, i guess i should add what modifications i'll be doing to my engine, huh
For the most part, at least at first, i'll only be doing a carb conversion, Performer intake and 600cfm carb. I'll also be doing Headers, Exhaust, and H-pipe upgrades. Later on I only plan on adding heads, and _maybe_ a mild (MILD!) cam. I dont think i really _NEED_ all those mods that are listed above!

stay away from off the shelf b&m crap. 2000rpm stall is completely worthless. i had a 2200for a while. couldnt tell the difference from stock. finally got a 3200 from edge racing and couldnt be happier.

ORIGINAL: 5.0FoxBody
but a 2800-3200rpm stall on a ~pretty much~ stock 5.0?? Can one go into a stock AOD w/out a huge rebuild?? and would that be ok for a daily driven 5.0?
