I already have an AOD in my 91, shift kitted from transgo, 3000 stall converter, but yet still unhappy with launch and performance down the track. My brother in-law has an 86, converted to efi, with a c-4, running same mods as i and walks away from me on the 60 ft, and by the time i just about reach him, the 1/4 is over. So the question I have since the car is only going to driven around town and at the strip, should switch over to the C4 or is there something else that I can do to the Slushbox AOD?

Yea, you could have the whole AOD rebuilt w/ all aftermarket performance parts but it would cost the same price as a C4 if not more. I personally like the C4's for a cruiser. The only downside to them is that they do not have an overdrive (3 speed automatic) Get a C$ from PA w/ a reverse manual valve body w/ a pistol grip shifter and your set... and if you really feel like getting crazy you can throw a trans brake on that biatch but thats just alot of extra dough and if its a street car its really unecessary.

what are your 60ft"s? what brand converter? is the converter custom or off the shelf? what gears are you running?

tci super streetfighter converter, 4.10 gears....60 ft time are between 1.9 and 2.2.... about a .3 difference, which i know is alot

are you running stock heads with the 24# injectors? if so theres part of your problem. shelf converters suck, second problem. what tires? are you spinning?

if you have a 3000stall speed and 4.10's and cant do better then a 1.9 60', you must be spinning like crazy

yes, the heads are stock........toyo proxes 4 for tires.......very minimal tire spin.....usaually deflate tires to 25psi.....rear are 275 40 17 front are 245 45 17
