Default RE: Carb issues...

Alright, With the rear throttle blades cracked open a bit I closed the primary throttle blades. Thinkin that would put me close. I tried the mix screws again, it either didn't do anything or the engine increased RPM a little. Now I have the mix screws 1 turn out. I called it quits forthe night, it's dark and I was tired of burning my hands trying to adjust the secondary screw.

does that carb have the 4 corner adjustment screws like my road demon?? If so screw the back 2 all the way in and just adjust the front 2 for your idle...
Yes it does. Ok, I will try that tomorrow night. Thanks!

Progress...

I can kill it now with the mix screws!

I have the secondary throttle plate screw almost all the way loose. I have the primary idle/throttle plate screw almost all the way loose. The front mix screws are out 1 turn, the rear's are out 1/2 turn. Idle is at 900 RPM. It has 14 " of vacuum. Mavrick, thanks for the tip. I suppose I'll have to take it and get it dyno'd to see what the air/fuel mix is. Baby steps but it's progress....

I checked the primary pump, I think it may have had a little tension on it.

Now I just need to figure out the mix.....

Good to hear, thx for the stealth tip in another post. read an article today where they made an extra 35 horse with that intake and carb swap. I'm goin with it. maybe a dumb question, but did you check the float levels now that it's suckin less fuel at idle?
