RE: advice for prepping my body
Make sure to have a garage or covered parking after to park it in. Unless they have an oven. The paint and clear take a while to cure and if bird **** or water stains get direct sunlight it could become a pain in de *** to get out.
You have to have a sander.

also after they paint it, make sure they wet sand then buff and wax.
the wet sanding after paint will take out the imperfections in the
clear coat. Usually paint shops will try and get away with out
doing that cause it doubles the hours required.
that is also something you could do your self after paint.
they make sanding blocks just for that. use 400-500 grit sandpaper
be sure to keep it VERY wet and re-sand everything by hand.
then come back and compound the shine back in with a power buffer.
finish off with a couple of coats of wax after a couple of days.
you dont want to put wax on right away or it makes it harder for
paint to fully cure.

i still think if you want a paint re-spray to stick good you
need to do more than wet sand it with 400 grit.
we used 180 to get the bigger imperfection out and then
give the primer a going over with 360 before paint to give it
a good smooth surface to spray.

......you only need 600 grit to stick for respray.....and yeah def. never wetsand clear w/ 400 grit or whatever was said....you can go as low as 1000, but you need to go over the 1000 w/ 1200 and ten over that with 1500 and even 2K if you want....
