ok just got my car back on the raod today and now its back off with in a couple hours. i come up to a traffic light and it jsut cant hold the idle i knew it was going to happen too. when i was driving to it everytime i would let off on the gas it would kinda stutter unless it was getting gas. luckly my friends house is right next to me we push it in his driveway and i pop the hood. this carb is just dropping gas in and drowning my engine. got a brand new holley red pump in today. my guess is that it was sitting for a couple weeks and the carb is all clogged any other ideas?

did you put a regulator in¿ how much fuel pressure is the holley red pumping out¿ was that the only change from a properly working car to its current condition¿

its not putting out enough pressure cause the car was running great for hours till i turned on one street and got on it then it just started running funny. it would run fine when i had my foot on the gas but as soon as i let off it would start to studder. it doesnt have a reg on it the shop owner told me i didnt need one for the red. i think that something in the carb freed up like dirt or build up of something and messed with it. at idle when i could get it to idle it was just DUMPING gas in

float level maybe to high allowin the fuel to keep pumping in the carb?letting it overflow i would still get a regulator

yeah im thinking about it im short on cash though im just going to take the carb off and clean it for now see what that does

it just pisses me off cause it was sitting for 3 weeks cause i didnt have the money for the pump finaly got it get the car running and it was running beautifully never ran so nice 5 hours later it takes a dump on me again

did u remove the stock pump? or are they both still on it?

it already had an electric one on it before this new one out of the tank its suposed to have intake mechaical the electric **** on me thats why i got the new one check out what happend to the old on

the red is rated at 4 psi max 7

If it's a Holley, adjust the float lower. try tapping on the bowl if you think the float is sticking.
