Default is it worth all of your time?`

my freind just picked up a 93 gt 5spd. and i was asking him what he was going to do wit it and he said make a very fast straight line car but still drive it on weekends. so he asked me what motor he should put in it i told him a 351 W and stroke and bore it to a 408 with forged rotating assembly and 9to1 compression and put a procharger on it. and not have to much money into it. but he wants to do a 302 stroked to a 347 with SC. but i guess the question is will the fuel rails and the computer adapt to the 351. and if so is there a place that makes better intakes and heads for the 302 than just edelbrock. thanks. kinda new to the whole pushrod engine. haha

AFR heads are the shiezzy, along with Edelbrock and Trickflow. I would also go with a 408W. A 347 w/ any decent blower will be seriously pushing the limits of the block.

I'm with 88BlueGT...

As far as the computer goes; it'll have a tough time dealing but it can be "chip'd" to get the driveability \ manors back. I think aftermarket fuel rails will be mandatory no matter which route he goes....

If its built right the computer will not know the diff between a 347 and a 351. Aeromotive makes the best fuel stiff.

331 with afr185's and custom cam with holley or rpm2 intake with a 125 shot of spray will make a very dependable 10 second car maybe high 9's.

that would only be bout what 450 hp or so then you will some awsome suspension and then you will only prolly hit mid 11s
the guy wants to be pushin 600whp so i think he will get a 351W and make it a 408 with a procharger runnin 12lbs of boost i think that would be a good start huh?
