Default Sound at open throttle

Last summer I bumped my timing and everything was all good but a few months ago my engine actually started sounding a little different during wide open throttle. It has kind of a flapping sound I guess you could say. It sounds like its the actual engine itself because if I hit the gas to rev the engine it makes that sound. I really don't have much time this week to mess around with the timing but has anyone had this issue. I only bumped it to 13 degree and I do use premimum gas.

can you look at your tach and see if the rpms are jumping? it could be braking up.

I have the same problem. It sounds like a flapping or sticking sound. But its only when you give it a little gas. Tpyically at higher speeds. At first I thought it might be a valve or rod. I hope its just a timing issue. My tach is dead. Is there any other way to tell what it could be?

How many miles on your car? Does it blow any smoke? Any performance differances?

Mine has about 100K, No Smoke, A little hesitation. Ive been having problems with the TPS and just unplugged it completely until this weekend when I can use the ohm meter and adjust it correctly. It almost sounds like a valve is sticking. But Evil is right only at open throttle. With mine the car has to be at around 40 MPH maybe higher. Any ideas?

Check the timing again.

I thought you needed a TPS, or else why would they put it there?

Im really not positive what the tps does, I think it helps with throttle response? I just plugged mine back in and re-adjusted it below 1.0 and I seem to have better response. Maybe someone can clear this up.

The throttle position sensor tells the computer where the throttle is positioned at, that is why it is important it is adjusted right. If you unpulg it, you will notice worse response.
