New Cobra R hood came in today...

Figured i'd smut out a couple pics of it. I ordered the hood from HOOD4SALE through ebay, and paid $350 total shipped to my front door. The hood fit nice with no modifications, but i do have a problem with the hood latch slot NOT being cut out on the new fiberglass hood. Here's the hood bolted on (- the hood latch) and a picture of what im talking about that is missing:

I called the guy and talked to his wife, who said HE would call me back when he got in. Figured i'd call and talk to him before i started cutting on the new hood.

BTW, it's of pretty good quality, and super nice on top. The bottom has a couple spots that looked like it had built up gel coat on it, but nothing some sand paper can't fix. Overall im pretty happy with it, just sux i gotta cut out my own hood latch slot.

Its fine, you just need to move the latch over a bit.

the way the new hood latches is differnt. that latch thing your talking about is a spring to make the heavy metal hood lift a little when you pop it inside the car.this is not required on the new hood. do not cut anything just mess with the fitment of the hood.

^^^^ what? i have this exact hood with the exact setup. and when i first got my hood i also scratched my head like what the %#? but all you have to do is forget about that stupid curved piece of metal that acts as a spring to pop up you hood and slap that bitch on your car. when you pop your hood now you'll hear it pop but it won't raise up like the stock setup does but who cares you got a tight ass hood.

My problem is that the hood doesn't lock! When i close it, it closes, but it doesn't lock in. I can pick it back up with my hand and use the spring loaded leaver (in the picture above) to fully release it.

How do i get it to lock down, and stay down like this??
