Default bad idle

im having a terrible idle in my 95 gt i will start it up and itjumps from around 400 up to 2500 then back down my battery gauge goes crazya the same time but i think thats from the idle. my friends dad told me that it might be my IAC so im wondering where it is on my car and if that can be my problem

sound simular to what i'm seeing in my 86. World of different between our years but i'm being told it's normal (on startup that is). Mine when you first start it jumps to 2000 and hold there for about 3 seconds. After it's 'hot' it jumps from about 500 to 900. It's weird. Let me know if you find out anything relavent. thanks.

it wouldnt hurt to check the IAC, and while your at it, leave your battery disconnected... also have someone check your timing (if you can do it yourself)

once everything is back in, start the car and just let it idle for a minute or so, dont touch the gas. the car will relearn all its sensors, after a minute or so, shut it down and let it sit for a few... then you should be good to drive it again.

I just installed a set of headers, mufflers and a new throttle body on my car and it was ALL messed up. i put a new batery in my car yesterday, and my idle came back to normal. So all i had to do was let the comp relearn itself

It's normal for it to jump to 2000 in the morning but not to idle roll...
