just plug the vacuum line to it and leave the cooling hoses alone for now. unless you plug the passageway in the intake, the valve may leak through and allow some gas to enter the spacer and without the cooling lines it could get too hot and cause some other problem, so just plug the vacuum unless you do like I did.

I've read that remove the cooling lines from the intake will allow the moisture in the air to freeze and cause problems, even when outside air temperatures a relatively warm. So it’s best to leave them alone. Also, do you know of anyone who has had their car emissions tested after making this modification? (Removing the EGR) Just wondering if it might still pass?

No, I don't, but I seriously doubt it would pass a strict emissions test without the EGR on and working properly because of what I said in my earlier "novel". lol

no one takes off the catalytic converters, bypass the egr and remove the smog pump and just go smog test the car, as easy as that stuff comes off, it goes right back on, but i dont have to smog my car until another 8 months...

I'm sure no one is stupid enough to take a car to be tested without emission controls, I was just wondering how well these modified cars would do. I know 5.0 magizine tried to have one of their cars smog tested, I don't remeber the out come, I'll have to look it up. I just think all that crap is a joke. Does it really reduce emissions or just dilute the air mixture with fresh air that comes out of the exhaust.

well either way, cars are bad, catalytic converters mess up the ozone, and without cats it makes the air dirty, would you rather have skin cancer or lung cancer, pick one.....

I would rather live in the country where there is so little traffic that it doesn't matter. If I lived in a city with smog I probably would defend emissions inspections. But I don't so I'll probably be removing the EGR valve this week.[sm=smiley34.gif]

bet you didn't know that the average dairy cow emits more unburned hydrocarbons in its farts than the average new car does in over 1,000 miles of driving. Seriously, I read this in Car and Driver several years ago. cats don't hurt the ozone, it's NOX, which the cats don't do anything about! I know California has its problems, but I hate that the feds forced the automakers to make all their cars pass your laws b/c not every place has the smog and other problems that California does. if I lived out there, and thank god I don't, I would probably obey the laws because it would be like pissing where I sleep if you know what I mean.
