Spark plug info
Has anyone heard anything about the Split Fire spark plugs? The price is much more than any other spark plug, so do you get what you pay for??
Also I was woundering if I should do anything like add any sort of grease or something before I install the spark plugs?

RE: Spark plug info
maybe if you had the juice going to it...as with a stock ignition I would buy a set of autolites and be happy....if you want more spark then buy a set of low ohm plug wires like msd or holley has out and a better coil

Well see, I wouldn't buy the Split Fire's concidering how stock my car is. But I got a set of them for free, so would it be bad for my car if I were to put these in? Would a stock 89 GT not have enough juice to "power" these suckers?

RE: Spark plug info
I have had a set of splitfires sitting around for years,my mustang guy said not to run them, for a 5.0 , I run NGK V groove plugs gap specs are .52-.56 .54 is perfect as well I will see how my Gas milage is now after i just changed them today. I been running NGK plugs for 10years On my 93 LX 5.0 and Motorsport wires 8MM Im wondering if the new 9mm will make any diffrance? those NGK plugs are like $1.52 at auto zone. and I run the Accel Cap and rotor kit like 19 bucks for that Liquide Out

I used them in my '88 and they made a difference in performance and improved my gas mileage a little bit, so I can definitely tell you to put them in for sure! put a small dab of silicone di-electric grease in the plug boots when you install them. this will help seal out moisture and make them easier to remove them later on.

milky.... is lessoning to me*L* ngk makes a great plug but you need more juice to the plug with the sec spark just as powerful as the first...so some dist work is good and low ohm wires.. the boush shines in that it warms up faster is about it..great for cold starts..a no-no for nitrous or tubro cars.....
