choosing a cam for a stock 5.0
Hey Spike,
In outlook express click on "Tools", "options", then click on the "security" tab...
Then uncheck the box that says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially contain a virus"
Hope this helps...

since you asked, i think you should know that the cam is the heart of any combonation. you should take those parts, if that is what you are content w/ and get a custom cam ground. not to confuse you but you can make awsome power with a stock cam. icon systems installed a twinturbo system ona 92 mustang an got almost 600 hp w/ a stock cam. but i must say the key to making power is your combination must work together. if you get a cam profiled from 3500 to 7000 and you use a decent head and a intake that good up to 5500 to 6000 you will make power but the combo won't be proficient. give these people a call. Motor Machine & Supply @520-792-1156 a cam spec service. give them all your specs you can. that's the best way

OK, you guys are right and wrong. A stock camDOES work great with forced induction, better than even alot of aftermarket cams when it comes to nitrous and supercharging... but it blows nuts when it comes to NA motors. Jesus I can't believe I am hearing people tell this guy that his stock cam is just as good as an aftermarket, and that he needs heads to take advantage of them! #$&@</P>
Listen, with your combo, an FMS E303 would be a good choice for you. It keeps the powerband fairly low so it will work OK with your stock intake. You already have gears which work great with an aftermarket cam. ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS I ALWAYS DO ON A 5.0 IS CAM AND GEARS. It makes the car a totally different performer. A cam is what? 200 bucks? Well worth it. And you don't HAVE to go with a FMS cam, thats just an example, and if you did go with one, thats what you should use. If you plan on adding headsand an intake then go with theB cam, if you plan of forced induction then go with a split profile cam.</P><edited><editID>mdvaldosta</editID><editDate>37898.4574768519</editDate></edited>

actually mdvaldosta i don't think anyone actually said that a stock cam is better than a an aftermarket cam, just that you can make decent power with a stock cam. the e-cam is a good choice, but if he's going to use the "juice" he's gonna need a cam with exhaust duration a little more than it's intake duration. he's already getting all the oxygen he needs by way of the "juice", with any set of heads the exhaust lags behind the intake in the flow dept. that's why you need a cam targeded to helping to expell the extra exhaust, <U>like you said a dual pattern cam.</U>

My two cents. I would go with h/c/i at the same time. I'd choose the steeda #19 cam (Crane grind) as it works equally well n/a or with adders, whether it be s/c or nitrous. Lots of lobe separation for better vacuum in a daily driver, and favors the exhaust side, making it perfect if you want to run a s/c.
